A comforting statistic

rorapid

Not really, just shows the liberal influence of professors. When I was in college, I had numerous professors, mainly in the general educational requirements, pushing their political beliefs onto us, I din't give in to him. These types of professors usually are in the field of ethics, political science, english, and natural sciences. The only ones with conservative views are the economics, accounting, and finance professors who understand how liberal beliefs and policies affect the business world.

It's "comforting" because it shows that we have an entire generation who will decide elections for decades to come not drinking the GOP kool-aid.

The crowd who obviously do are on there way out, eventually.

Wrong Wrong Wrong.  Once all those kids grow up and have kids of their own.  They will change their beliefs real quick.  You know it changes the perspective of how you view things when you have more to be responsible for than a dog.

So you're saying that voting democrat equates being young and immature, while voting republican means you've "grown up" and have responsibilities? Laughable! If that were the case, then well over half of American married couple with kids (including the ones making over $200,000 a year!) wouldn't have voted for Obama, yet that's exactly what happened.

Face it, times are changing, and the repubs are on the way out. Hopefully for good.

That will never happen. America will get tired of the democrats too, so in about 8 years, (if it takes that long) Americans will be happy to see a Republican back in office.

Only time will tell. One of us will be posting a "toldja so" in this thread in 8 years, I suppose. Laughing

I think it's pretty obvious with the new crop of staunch liberals/democrats/centrists  taking their place as the "present" generation that you're opinion is wrong.

Good quote!!!

“As Mankind becomes more liberal, they will be more apt to allow that all those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community are equally entitled to the protections of civil government. I hope ever to see America among the foremost nations of justice and liberality.”
George Washington

"Conservatives are not necessarily stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives."
John Stuart Mill

Liberalism is, I think, resurgent. One reason is that more and more people are so painfully aware of the alternative. The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.
John Kenneth Galbraith

Liberalism is trust of the people, tempered by prudence; conservatism, distrust of the people, tempered by fear.
William Gladstone

What do our opponents mean when they apply to us the label "Liberal?" If by "Liberal" they mean, as they want people to believe, someone who is soft in his policies abroad, who is against local government, and who is unconcerned with the taxpayer's dollar, then ... we are not that kind of "Liberal." But if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal."
John F. Kennedy

Republicans are men of narrow vision, who are afraid of the future.
Jimmy Carter

I have been thinking that I would make a proposition to my Republican friends... that if they will stop telling lies about the Democrats, we will stop telling the truth about them.
Adlai Stevenson

That sounds like wishful thinking rorapid. The Republicans are quickly becoming a small, conservative, southern based, party. Look for the Libertarians to become more mainstream and move into that second slot in major party politics.
Nighthawk

^I would completely embrace this if it were to happen.

Unfortunately I don't hold much hope of it coming to pass.  I am much more libertarian than republican myself.
