6,000 Muslim Clerics Declare Fatwa on Terrorism
| Quote: | HYDERABAD, India, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- About 6,000 Muslim clerics from around India approved a fatwa against terrorism Saturday at a conference in Hyderabad.
Maulana Qari Mohammad Usman Mansoorpuri, president of the Jamaiat-Ulama-i-Hind, called terrorism the most serious problem facing Islam, The Hindu reported. He blamed Islamic radicals for their actions and the news media for failing to distinguish between the radicals and the majority of Muslims.
"We have no love for offenders whichever religion they might belong to," he said. "Our concern is that innocents should not be targeted and the career of educated youth not ruined. The government should ensure transparency in investigation."
India has the world's second-largest Muslim population after Indonesia, although Hindus outnumber Muslims. The meeting was also expected to address issues like national integration.
"Islam rejects all kinds of unjust violence, breach of peace, bloodshed, murder and plunder and does not allow it in any form. Cooperation should be done for the cause of good but not for committing sin or oppression," the fatwa written at the Darul Uloom Deoband, India's foremost Islamic seminary. |

Yeah, well that's nice. They're a day late and a dollar short don't you think? It is probably because so many muslims are being killed that now they've had enough. It is against islam to fight and kill another muslim, not so with those "people of the book", Jews and Christians.

That is just a flat out lie, sorry. You have to probably parse words here such as what is considered "unjust violence". Someone needs to tell the Iranians, the Indonesians, the Pakistanis, the Sudanese, and on, and on. This statement may have been true while muhammad was in Mecca but he soon changed his doctrine after moving to Medina, then as now it is "death to the infidels". This was his later "revelation".

So are you saying there's no such thing as a peaceful Muslim?
If so, it's people like you who fuel xenophobia and hatred towards normal Muslims who want nothing to do with the extremists.
Much as I'd imagine you'd want nothing to do with the insane christians who kill witches/wiccans and gay people because they feel that "the bible tells them to."
Taking any religion too seriously breeds violence and extremism.

What is this xenophobia week? It seems to be a favorite insult you like to hurl regularly. Tell me if you will, just what is a normal muslim? How manyof these normal muslims do you know intimately? Better yet, give me an example of a peaceful Islamic regime that honors womens rights, personal freedom, religious freedom and freedom of speech. That shouldn't be hard.

Wha? christians killing wiccans? Killing homosexuals? Where do you get this stuff? Christians are followers of Jesus if you didn't know. You'll not find any such admonitions from those who recorded his sermons. Nor from the Apostle Paul led by the Holy Spirit to write much of the New Testament. Can you make this same claim of Islam?
And finally,

The truth of history would prove the opposite, regardless of the atheistic
pros you like to spout - Taking anti-Christianity too seriously breeds violence and extremism
