Source: Holder informally offered, accepts AG job
By LARA JAKES JORDAN and MATT APUZZO, Associated Press Writers Lara Jakes Jordan And Matt Apuzzo, Associated Press Writers – 51 mins ago
WASHINGTON – A source close to the process of selecting Barack Obama's attorney general says the president-elect has "informally" offered the post to Washington lawyer Eric Holder, who has accepted.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity Wednesday because no announcement has been made. He said that Holder has "informally" accepted the offer, pending completion of the vetting process.
Holder would be the nation's first black attorney general. He could run into some potential political problems over a 2001 pardon of a wealthy commodities dealer by President Bill Clinton, whose administration Holder served as deputy attorney general. The trader, Marc Rich, had spent years running from tax charges

Source: Obama considering Daschle for Cabinet
By KEVIN FREKING, Associated Press Writer Kevin Freking, Associated Press Writer – 7 mins ago
WASHINGTON – President-elect Barack Obama is seriously considering selecting former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle as his secretary of Health and Human Services, a person close to the deliberations said Wednesday.
This person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the discussions between Obama and Daschle are private, said the background of the South Dakota Democrat is being reviewed, part of a process called "vetting" in Washington-speak.
Daschle, a close adviser to Obama throughout the Illinois senator's White House campaign, recently wrote a book on his proposals to improve health care, and he is working with former Senate leaders on recommendations to improve the system.
Separately, Obama's transition team announced that Daschle will oversee Obama's health policy working group assigned to develop proposals and plans for action for the next administration. |

You are correct, but tax and spend policies have never worked and never will. |

Please name just one democratic administration that has spent more money, that it didn't have, than the current republican one. Check the facts and figures first. Pray tell, how in the world can a country survive long by borrowing and spending money it does not have while at the same time cutting taxes. Looks like a formula for disaster to me.
Anyway, the American people are willing to try something different for a change. Thank goodness!!! |

And do you think with Obama supporting all of these bail-out programs, hand out programs, and a national health care plan is called....."getting a hand on the economy????"
I m not all in favor with what is going on to say Obama is going to get this economy moving......its going to take TIME, not a president, and time is the only thing that is going to make it happen.....the good will hang on, the not so good wll fail. _________________ Keep ya dayum change! I'm good and I'm trying to hang on. LOL I say lets give the man a chance. He hasn't even took office yet. He won't be giving the country away till then, if there is anything left to give away. |

Explain to me how "fiscal conservatism" wasn't at the very least partially to blame for the horrendous deficits of prior and soon-to-be prior administrations? _________________
