Wasn't it you who had an issue with Papa John's recently & their manager?  I know I read somewhere that someone had a bad experience & I am thinking it was you.

Thanks, Kim

I think they have new management.  It wasn't the lady that used to run Papa Johns.

Yes, that was me.  I waited about a week in case the manager called to offer more of an apology; when I didn't get it I contacted their corporate office.  I haven't heard back yet.  And yeah, they were bought out by someone new.

My daughter & I ordered a pizza there this afternoon, after 30 minutes they called asking us where we lived.  My daughter told them again, and the asst mgr. Jimmy told her she gave them the wrong address & if we wanted it we would have to come & get it ourselves, then he hung up on her.  I called back & asked him why I needed to come pick it up when it was their mistake, and he adamantly stated my daughter gave him the wrong address. My daughter was sitting right beside me when she ordered it, I overheard the convo & told him so....this guy still said she gave him the wrong address.  I think after living here for the last 7-8 years we know our own address, wouldn't you think??? My daughter is 23, so I am sure she has the capacity to order a pizza.  I then asked for his last name, he refused to tell me....so then I asked for his supervisors name & number, he told me her name but that she wasn't able to be reached, and he wasn't going to give me the number to reach her.  I told him he was the worst manager I had ever had the experience of dealing with & his reply was
" We suck, our service sucks", and slammed the phone down.  Of course I emailed Papa Johns about this, but the bottom line here is if you want your blood pressure to explode, grit your teeth & call Jimmy @ Papa Johns.
Thanks but no thanks, we ordered Dominos & it was delivered fresh, hot, correctly as ordered and with a damned smile.  So for Jimmy at Papa Johns I do agree with him on one thing " their service sucks ".

I used to drive for them several years ago.  I'm glad to say that chapter in my life is over with, it isn't any better on the inside.  I don't know who is running the place now, but I certainly didn't care for the management at the time.

Sounds like their current management isn't any better, at least before when I ordered a pizza it was hot, fresh and ON TIME.  Having the drivers know where I lived was an added plus.  I got a Dominos pizza and I just don't like their sauce.  Guess I'll be making my pizzas at home!

Papa Johns tastes the best and the new location looks a lot cleaner.

That said I know from Rock how "wonderful" the previous staff and esp. management was.  Hard to believe they could actually have gotten worse!  BTW we got pizzas for a class party this month and they had no discount on them for kids as a reward.  I think the old manager used to give a discount if it was school related for a reward.

Yes, they used to sell large 1-topping pizzas for $6; it was $1 more that Little Caesars but it tasted way better so it was worth it (this was around May).  I go back for my den's end of summer party (in August) and the lowest they could go was $7.99 for a 1-topping!  I said 'no thanks' and went to LC's.

They do taste the best but it doesn't matter how they taste if their service sucks and their MANAGER doesn't care.  Makes me wonder how much their business has dropped off if the manager admits to having such bad service!

I agree, Papa John's is the best 'tasting' pizza we have in town, and I usually prefer it. But it seems the new mgt. is going out of it's way to alienate it's customer base. I had Papa John's delivered almost every week at the theater when I was there for my crew and bosses, then when they moved the service changed dramatically! When they were on 10th st, I used to have a 30minute give or take wait at the theater, then they moved closer and our wait changed to a minimum of an hour, and the pizza was always cold. Kim, I had almost the same situation happen, where I called in and ordered delivery, waited an hour called back and they said I had ordered "pickup" (which I hadn't, I was at work) and that it was impossible for them to change it, I would have to come get it.

Terrible customer service. That combined with the new incredibly long delivery time had me ordering from Dominos from then on. They were much farther away and still managed to get the pizza to us in half the time and piping hot!

I never figured out why a delivery company wants to move out there to the little WalMart area anyway.  You're taking yourselves further away from at least 75% of the customers you serve, if not more.  I'd guess more around 90% of it is in or right around the actual town of RR.  I'm sure that delivery times have shot through the roof for folks in the city as well, with the drivers having to maneuver out of that cluster of a shopping center.  If you're a sit down restaurant sure, go ahead and move it out there where the people are shopping.  I mean how many folks are just coming out of those stores and saying "hmmm well since Papa John's is out here I guess I'll wait for a pizza".  I'm willing to bet very few, more than likely next to none.

I know how to fixem! Everyone from RoRap pick a night and order several pizzas at the same time. Tell them you will pick them up but don't go. They will have a gazillion pizzas ready out the wazoo with no one to pay for them! When they call you back, tell them Jimmy said that you suck and your service sucks!

Do unto them what I have always wanted to do to Lucy!

I've got a better idea, get your pizza from someone else.

I use to enjoy papa john's, but their prices have got so steep we don't order from them at all.....its normally four or five here when we order pizza, I just do domino's deal, 3 for $15. Pizza Hut had the same deal at one time for carry out.....and their pizza is better than papa johns by far.

The best thing to do is send the link to this thread to the franchisee of papa dum's here in ro rap so he can see just what kinda attention he or she is getting.

I did recieve an email from Papa Johns telling me they were passing the complaint onto the owners, but so far I haven't heard anything.

I am going to take Doomster's suggestion & link them to this thread to give them an idea of the service Roanoke Rapids is getting.
I think we all concur here, Papa John's service sucks!!!
