Well......I can say for the past year and a half I haven't had the time do all the fishing I wanted to do, been busy working and doing other things. Well....today holds a different plan. I am fixing to clean up all of my old rods and tune them up a bit, replace the line and get my tackle straight. In a few more weeks I will be fly fishing the lakes and a few ponds out in the country. I don't know if any of you guys have ever gotten into fly fishing or not, but you need to try it......its fun! I suggest going to wal-mart and buying a cheap ($25) fly-rod kit and using it first to see if its something you think you might be interested in doing, and moving up into a better combo if you like it. I have schooled a few locals here on it and my son as well. Its some of the best fishing out there! We caught some bass at a local pond a few years back on the fly rods and that was one sweet challenge to land it.

We did that one day with the fly rods on the river and it is even a bigger challenge than landing a bass, lots of work, but a ton of fun. When I had my center console if the river was up decent we could go in on it ok, it was glass but ran a real shallow depth. I could pole it in about 6 inches almost with the engine trimmed up. I need to get me a nice aluminum boat....everything I have now is glass, and thats not good for the river much unless its up fairly decent. This year I have already made the commitment I am going to get back into fishing hard, so I might break down and buy me another fishing boat, small and used, a good deal if I can find one that meets that criteria. We'll have to head down there one weekend and catch a few rocks this season.......its fun, no doubt.
